1. WINTER WEAVE
Where/when: Wildwood Cultural Center, during regular hours, Monday through Friday.
Why go: Got something to carry? Looking for a cool decoration? The Wildwood Basketry Guild is encouraging you to make your own using its instruction. The group will provide basket-weaving demonstrations to visitors all weekend. Classes are by pre-registration. The Guild invites the public to view basket-making from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. 2. FISH FRY EVENTS IN THE AREA
Where/when: At select churches and organizations in and around Mentor

Why go: It's fish-fry season, and Mentor residents can find plenty of them in the area on Friday. The Knights of Columbus #947 will host one from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 987 Mentor Ave, Painesville. The menu will include Lake Erie yellow perch, walleye and shrimp. St. Mary of the Assumption's fish fry is from 5 to 8 p.m., and St. Gabriel Church will hold one from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Pricing: Prices vary, up to $12.50 depending on the fish fry.
3. LAKELAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE JAZZ FEST
Where/when: All weekend, at Lakeland, 7700 Clocktower Dr., Kirtland
Why go: Lakeland has a full weekend of concerts and activities planned. First, The college will host its 41st annual Jazzfest Friday through Sunday. The main event is at 8 p.m. on Saturday, headlined by Grammy Award-nominated saxophonist saxophonist Chris Potter. Percussionist Jamey Haddad will perform Friday with pianist Leo Blanco and bassist Roberto Occhipinti. Click here for a full list of activities and performances.
Pricing: Tickets to Friday's concert are $15 per adult, $10 students; Saturday's event costs $25 for adults, $15 for students.
