Vintage Ohio, Triathlons & Village Markets: A Weekend In Review

Catch all the fun that's happening in and around Mentor this weekend.

Where/When: Lake Metroparks Farmpark (8800 Euclid Chardon Rd, Kirtland), Friday and Saturday

Why Go: This is the event for wine lovers in the area.

More than 30,000 wine and food lovers travel to Lake Metroparks Farmpark to taste regional wines, sample fine cuisine and enjoy the area’s best musical talent each year.

Two stages will feature jazz, reggae, oldies and light rock. Friday night features a fireworks display.

Where/When: , 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday

Why Go: As in years past, North Coast Multisports will hold its annual at Mentor Headlands State Beach Park.

Kids will run, swim and bike through some of the most beautiful terrain in Northeast Ohio.

Where/When: , 4 to 8 p.m. Friday

Why Go: The farmer’s market features locally grown produce, arts and crafts, food, and many other products for sale by dozens of vendors.

The Market Days are also a great time for families. Each week there will be live music, balloon artists Flower Clown and Pepper Jack, face painting with Janie Walland, storytelling, caricature artist Tim Hosler, a watermelon-eating contest, cookie decorating and ceramic painting.

This week, the market will have feature the musical stylings of Those Guys.

Where/When: , 6 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 2)

Why Go: Knitters and crocheters come together during these gatherings to discuss many topics on yarn, as well as knit together. It's free and open to the public.
