1. Let's start out with something cute. (We did celebrate Valentine's Day this week, after all.)
Students from Mentor High visited Heartland of Mentor this Tuesday. They danced with the seniors, served them chocolate-covered goodies and even crowned a pair of them king and queen.

3. It was not all hugs, kisses and Donny Hathaway this week.
Pet Pause Columnist Sandra Ward recently attended a conference where Jack Hanna was the keynote speaker.
Hanna used the opportunity to criticize legislators for failing to pass a ban on exotic animals after the Zanesville incident.
4. A poll released Wednesday shows presidential candidate Rick Santorum springing to the most-favored spot among Ohio Republican primary voters.
What do you think of Santorum's ascent?
5. Let's end on some good news, as well.
The Planning Commission approved the permit and preliminary site plan for a new Classic Auto Ford Lincoln dealership at 8540 Tyler Boulevard during its meeting Thursday night.
In addition to building a Ford dealership, Classic Auto hopes to move its expanding Hyundai dealership to the former Ford location. This will allow both dealerships to expand, said Classic Auto CFO Larry Villanes.
That means at least 50 more jobs in the city of Mentor, Villanes said.
