Shakespeare, Wildwood Theatre & Hiring Our Heroes: A Weekend Planner

Why Go: The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival returns this weekend to Mentor for free performances of two of William Shakespeare's better known plays.

Each year, the troupe picks one of Shakespeare's comedies and one of his dramas to stage in the park. This year, they will and.

Both shows begin at 7 p.m. and will be performed on the same lawn where President James A. Garfiend once entertained reporters.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and seat themselves prior to each outdoor performance. And the show will go on rain or shine.

Guests are welcome to bring picnic baskets and meals but no alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Why Go: The Wildwood Theatre Camp presents its latest original show, The Absolutely, Positively Error-Free History of the World.

This production stars more than 35 campers ages eight to 15, is directed by Steve Couch and features music by Joseph Hollings.

The performance is free, family friendly and open to the public.

Why Go: Veterans are invited to participate and network in a free hiring fair Friday at the Wolstein Center.

Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the US Chamber of Commerce, is being brought to Cleveland by the work of the Ohio Department of Veteran Services, AMVETSCuyahoga County Veterans Service Commission, Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Cleveland State University, MAGNET and the Greater Cleveland Partnership. All services provided at the event are free. Each company in attendance will be hiring for at least five open positions within their company.

Light landscaping help would be appreciated during the event. Please bring tools and wear clothes for getting dirty.
