UPDATE: Severe Weather Heading Toward Mentor; Tornado Watch Issued

Storms from the west are making their way toward Mentor

Updated at 7:30 p.m.: The National Weather Service has added a severe thunderstorm warning to Lake County.

The National Weather Service has placed Mentor under a tornado watch until 9 tonight.

Thunderstorms moving into the area from the west could bring strong winds, hail and very heavy rainfall, the NWS warns. Already, baseball-size hail has been reported in western counties such as Erie, Huron and Lorain.
