Photo Gallery: Zombies Invade Mentor Public Library

It's hard to stay quiet in the library when there's a zombie outbreak

Library patrons got a scare (and a few laughs) when a sextet of zombie-fied teens skulked the hallways of its main branch Saturday.

They were participants in the library's first ever Z-Day.

The kids used makeup, paint, some old, torn shirts and a little twisted creativity to give themselves zombie makeovers.

They then played games, won prizes and posed for some impromptu photo shoots at the library. (They even gave a certain local editor a zombie makeover. Yes, there's a picture.)

"We wanted to do something a little different to show teens the library is about more than books,” said Amanda Densmore, the library's adult information services manager. "Zombies are big right now, so we thought this program was a perfect fit."
