Photo Gallery: Chilling At The Chili Cook Off
Local figures judged a chili cook off Tuesday that was held at the Mentor Senior Center and organized by the Northeast Ohio Association of Specialists in Aging
The Northeast Ohio Association of Specialists in Aging hosted a chili cookoff Tuesday at the Mentor Senior Center with local celebrities judging.
The ASA is a network of businesses and organizations designed to help older persons in Lake and surrounding counties.
Several local organizations participated in the cook off, including The Alzheimer’s Association, Enhanced Rehabilitation, Mentor Way, Angels in Waiting, The Lake County Council on Aging, Kemper House, First Light, Homecare, Altercare of Mentor, the Mentor Senior Center, Signature Home Care, Senior Independence, Comfort Keepers, Hanson Services, Heather Hill, Randall Residence, Interim Healthcare, The Fairways, Amedysis, The Scooter Store, Gates Mills Club, Sheraton Furniture, Home Instead Senior Care, Affordable Step in Shower and Harbor Light Hospice.

The chilis were judged by a panel including Mentor City Manager Kenneth Filipiak, Mentor Schools Superintendent Matthew Miller, Mentor Police Chief Daniel Llewellyn, Planning Commission President Bill Snow, Parks and Recreation Director Bob Martin, Deputy Fire Chief Peter Grendze and the city's Director of Marketing and Communications, Kathie Pohl.
However, the real winners were the people who got a taste of all that delicious chili.
