Mystery Writer Les Roberts Returns To Mentor With New Book

Roberts will speak and autograph copies of his new book, 'Whiskey Island,' this Thursday at Mentor Public Library

Les Roberts, the author behind the Milan Jacovich series, will be speaking and signing copies of his newest book, Whiskey Island, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at .

Whiskey Island is Roberts' 16th book following Jacovich – a Stroh's-drinking, klobasa-eating private investigator from Cleveland who attracts as much trouble in his personal life as he does in his professional one.

In the new novel, Cleveland city councilman Bert Loftus -- a man with a rapacious appetite for good food, flashy suits, and Las Vegas call girls -- is made the target of media scrutiny and an FBI investigation that may end his career.

Convinced that someone is trying to kill him, Loftus turns to Milan and his partner Kevin O'Bannion -- a military veteran with a quick temper -- for help.

Roberts will talk about his career – both in Hollywood and Cleveland – as well as sign copies of Island when he speaks at the library Thursday.
