Why Go: Frank Krupa and Mentor’s Act 1 Theater Group will present their newest variety show, .

The night will include singing, dancing, a magic act, impressions, comedy and a name-that-tune contest.

Friday is a benefit performance for the Lake County Senior Services Levy and United Way of Lake County.

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, Friday

Why Go: The lovely Holden Arboretum in Kirtland is offering free admission Friday as part of National Public Garden Day.

If you've never been there, here's the perfect chance.

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, 1 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: The Theatre Arts Camp at the Willoughby Fine Arts Association is for students entering grades 3 through 12.

Auditions are for acceptance and placement into the program. All levels of experience will be considered.

To schedule an audition time, call 440-951-7500.

  • Student should prepare a short, memorized poem or monologue (a short, single character speech) from a play, book or movie.
  • Student should prepare a short song to sing, any style. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
  • Student should dress comfortably for movement. No open-toed or high-heeled shoes.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before scheduled time and plan to stay for one hour.

5. 

Where/When:  (6011 Heisley Road, Mentor,) Saturday

Why Go: On the second Saturday of every month through October, bring your yard waste, brush, logs, limbs and trimmings to 6011 Heisley Road and dump it for free.

No plastic bags, please.
