Mentor Updates Residents On Timeline For City's Road Repairs

While Allen Pennington -- the city of Mentor's professional engineer -- was not sure if this year's was the biggest in the city's history, he knew it was one of the biggest.

Portions of 26 Mentor streets are slated for asphalt repair this year. Another 12 will receive full-depth concrete repairs.

The asphalt work has already begun.

As of May 15, the following asphalt streets were already paved: Edgewood Road, Clifton Court, Curtiss Court, Hopkins Road, Willowbrook Drive, Homewood Drive, Forest Road, Jordan Drive, Sycamore Road, Oak Street, Thunderbird Drive, Tall Oaks Drive, Magnolia Drive and Cole Drive.

The remaining streets are Hendricks Road, Beaver Creek Drive, Colony Court, Firwood Road, Hoyt Court, Shawnee Trail, Stockbridge Road, Seneca Road, Seminole Trail, Old Johnnycake Ridge Road, Crossfield Avenue and Culver Boulevard.

Additionally, full-depth pavement repairs will occur on Jackson Street between Heisley Road and Mentor Avenue.

Residents on all of the affected streets received notices from the contractor, describing the work and providing contact information for the contractor and a city representative

Meanwhile, work on the concrete portion of the Road Program has begun in the Pinegate Subdivision.

However, the full depth concrete repairs are temporarily delayed. The same contractor, TC Construction, was also hired to perform .

After that project is completed, it will begin concrete repairs on Norwood Drive, Pinewood Court, Gatewood Drive, Aspenwood Court, Foxwood Court, Ramblewood Drive, Cannon Ridge Drive, Snowberry Court, Curberry Drive, Catalpa Circle, Canterbury Lane and Yellowwood Drive.

All road repairs are scheduled to be finished by September 28. However, the asphalt work should be done well before that, Pennington said.
