Mentor Runners to Host Candlelight Vigil Tonight at High School

The event will begin at 9 p.m.

Most in the Mentor running community believe those who from the area who participated in Boston Marathon were unharmed by Monday's explosions. Still, they want to show support for those who died and suffered injuries.

Doug Middleton, manager of Second Sole in Mentor, said area runners, including one of his employees, have organized a candlelight vigil tonight at Mentor High School's track. The event begins at 9 p.m. People are encouraged to come, say a prayer and run a mile in honor of the victims.

Middleton said he and others in the running community are confident that everybody who attended the marathon from Mentor, Concord Township and Willoughby have all reported being OK or finished the race prior to the bomb reports.
