Mentor Man Wins $10,000 App Store Gift Card

Brandon Ashmore made the 50 billionth download in the App Store's five-year history

A Mentor man now has more download credits than he'll probably ever use.

According to an Apple news release, Brandon Ashmore downloaded the 50 billionth application from the company's popular app store. To commemorate the milestone, Apple gave him a $10,000 App Store Gift Card.

“They actually called me first, several times, because I didn’t actually believe I won, but then they started saying things that they could not have known (unless it was legitimate),” the 21-year-old told The News-Herald.
