Man Accused Of Marijuana Trafficking In Mentor
Alexander Downs also faces felony counts of drug possession and possession of criminal tools
Mentor police arrested a man shortly after midnight Wednesday who is accused of trafficking marijuana.
A police officer pulled over Alexander Downs, 19, of Mayfield Heights, for swerving across the lane, Mentor Police Lt. Tim Allen said.
When the policeman approached Downs' truck, he could smell marijuana, Allen said.

During a cursory pat down, the officer found a pill bottle with a bag of marijuana and 10 adderall pills, Allen said. The policeman then found a second bag of marijuana for a total of seven grams.
Downs told the officer he was buying it for some friends, Allen said.

The police charged Downs with marijuana trafficking, drug possession (because he did not have a prescription for the adderall) and possession of criminal tools. The criminal tools, in this case, refer to Downs' cell phone and truck.
He was arraigned Wednesday in . Judge John Trebets released him on a personal bond.
