Where/When: North Mentor Centenary United Methodist Church, 7 to 9 p.m., Friday through Sunday
Why Go: Step back into time and visit the birthplace of the baby Jesus.

The manger has Mary, Joseph, wise men, shepherds, angels, a donkey and sheep with a narrator telling the story of Jesus's birth.
Take time to visit the church's sanctuary that is more than 150 years old and enjoy a cup of coffee, hot chocolate and cookies while viewing pictures from past nativities.

2. GIFT WRAPPING FOR A CAUSE
Where/When: , several days including Friday and Monday
Why Go: Support a Prom To Remember -- a dance especially for teens who have been affected by cancer -- by helping to wrap Christmas gifts at the Western Reserve Harley-Davidson.

3. DUCT TAPE ART AT MENTOR PUBLIC LIBRARY
Where/When: Mentor Public Library main branch, 4:30 to 6 p.m., today (Thursday)
Why Go: Teens can create fun, unique picture frames and ornaments from duct tape and other simple supplies.
It makes a perfect holiday gift.
Some duct tape will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite roll to make an impressive frame.

4. MAKING HOLIDAY COOKIES AT YOUNG CHEF'S ACADEMY
Where/When: Great Lakes Mall, noon to 2 p.m., today (Thursday)
Why Go: Young chefs (ages five to 14) will learn some tricks in the kitchen and make 30 holiday treats and cookies.

5. MENTOR SENIOR CENTER VETERANS GROUP
