  • The Pizza for Paws event has the potential to be the shelter's biggest fundraiser this month.

All the Longo's restauraunts, including Longo's Pizza and Joey's Italian Grille, are holding a fundraising event from April 22 through 24.

Here's how it works: Stop by any of the four Longo's/Joey's locations and purchase any large 1-topping pizza for $10.

All of the proceeds will be donated back to Lake Humane Society. Be sure to bring your required flyer along with you. (It's been attached to this story as a PDF.)

This is valid on both dine in and carry out. Only 250 flyers will be accepted per location for a total of 1,000 pizzas.

This fundraiser has the potential to raise more $10,000 for the shelter.

  • The Bow Wow Meow Roller Skating Party is Mentor Skateland's way of showing its support for the Lake Humane Society.

This event is being held from 6 to 8 p.m. April 18 at the skating rink.

There is no admission cost. Instead, just bring a donation from the shelter's wish list or a monetary donation. (Skate rental costs $2.)

  • S + W Zumbathon at the Lost Nation Sports Park in Willoughby is celebrating its 1-year anniversary by hosting a Zumbathon on April 12.

Guests can participate for $10 at the door and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the animals at Lake Humane Society.
