Why Go: Doc's Deepwood Run will return for its 15th year; and there's still time for bikers and sponsors to sign up and raise money for those with developmental disabilities.

In the last 14 years, the motorcycle run has raised about $400,000. The money helps those with developmental disabilities by paying for activities or equipment that improve their quality of life.

The 15th run will begin 9 a.m. Aug. 26 at . The prize drawings will be at 11 a.m. and the first bike will head out 30 minutes later

Pricing: Bikers can participate by buying a $10 ticket beforehand or $15 ticket the day of the run.

Where/When: Center Street overpass of Interstate 90, 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: The USA Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team is passing through Mentor on their way to the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

We are looking for TEAM USA fans to cheer them on as they make their way west on I-90.

You can show your support by arriving on the Center Street overpass in Mentor between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Bring your family and friends. Our goal is to line the bridge with as many people as we can; and to show our support we will all be waving USA flags. Signs and posters are encouraged as well.

Anyone with questions can email svettel@spireinstitute.org.
