1. SHORE PTSA MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY FOOD DRIVE

Where/When: Shore Middle School, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday

Why Go: The Shore Middle School PTSA is conducting a Food Drive to benefit St. Bede's Food Pantry this Saturday.

All proceeds will directly benefit Lake County families. Members of the Shore PTSA, including staff, parents and students, will be on hand from 9:00 am to 2:00 p.m. (rain or shine) to collect food and donations from anyone wishing to join in and support this effort.

Most needed now are healthy foods to build balanced meals for families. All types of canned or boxed dry food and paper products will be graciously accepted along with monetary donations of any size.

2. AN EVENING WITH THE GHOST WHISPERER

Where/When: Lakeland Community College (7700 Clocktower Dr, Kirtland), 7:30 p.m., Friday

Why Go: Mary Ann Winkowski, a world-renowned paranormal investigator and Ohio native, will host a night of of ghost-talk.

For those who don't know what a paranormal investigator is, Winkowski's fulltime vocation is functioning as an intermediary between the living and ghosts -- or, as Winkowski prefers to call them, earthbound spirits.

Winkowski has written several books about her experiences and is the inspiration for CBS's The Ghost Whisperer.

Pricing: $25 for Winkowski's talk; $50 for the talk and dinner. Reservations can be made on the college's website.

3. MAMA ROBERTO'S DINNER THEATRE WITH FRANK SINATRA

Where/When: Mama Roberto's Pizza & Pasta, 7 p.m., Friday

Why Go: Enjoy a full dinner -- does Mama Roberto's serve anything less? -- and Michael Sonata as Frank Sinatra this Friday.

Celebrate life with a little food, fun and Sinatra.

Pricing: $30

4. HALLOWEEN ROLLER SKATING PARTY

Where/When: Skateland, 6:30 p.m. Thursday

Why Go: Where else are you going to see a rollerskating werewolf?

Wear your costume and go to Skateland for fun, games, raffles and prizes.

Pricing: $5 to get in, another $2 for skate rental.

5. SPECIAL SATURDAY MORNING HIKE AT MENTOR MARSH

Where/When: Mentor Marsh Nature Preserve, 10 a.m. Saturday

Why Go: Join the long standing tradition of exploring Mentor Marsh with the Burroughs Nature Club (Open to everyone).

Meet at the Mentor Marsh Nature Center at 5185 Corduroy Road. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for uneven terrain and rough walking conditions if we hike off trail.
