Drowning Deaths, Biting Fights & Wind Storms: Around the Patch

1. So there was a crazy wind and lightning storm Wednesday night.

Fortunately, in Mentor, the storm amounted to little more than pyrotechnics. However, other communities were less lucky.

For example, the storm and knocked down a few trees in Lakewood.

2. A 31-year-old Solon woman was arrested and charged with domestic violence after  say she bit her boyfriend multiple times and then fled through an apartment window.

The boyfriend told officers that his girlfriend became enraged after he took her car keys to prevent her from driving while intoxicated.

3. Davion McCail, 16, of Akron, in Cuyahoga Falls.

Sadly, he is the in the river this summer in the city. Dianna Dyak, 46, died after she fell into the river and dislocated her neck, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.

4. A Kent Patch blogger/fireman/cancer patient wrote about how difficult it is to be unable to swallow any food or liquids.

"Each evening at 7 p.m. I start up a mixture of 1,200 ml of formula. The pump runs for 12 hours and I finish at approx. 7 a.m. each morning. This gets me 1,500 calories per day as kind of a minumum to keep my head above water.  I disconnect and flush the line with water when finished "eating," he writes.
