Cruise Ins, Cub Scouts & Congenital Cytomegalovirus: A Weekend Planner

Why Go: Michael Santon was born with Congenital Cytomegalovirus on May 6, 2012; and his family needs help paying for his care.

To that end, friends are hosting a benefit dinner for the family this Saturday.

A $20 ticket gets you a spaghetti dinner with salad and dinner rolls. There will also be a cash bar, as well as a Chinese auction, raffles and DJ.

Where/When (and all throughout the city,) 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: The Mentor Schools' band programs will have their annual Tag Day fundraiser this Saturday.

Students will canvas Mentor neighborhoods seeking donations to help support the instrumental music programs.

This is the largest band booster event for the year, and the money collected helps to buy music, repair/replace aging instruments, buy student uniforms and more.

Don't be afraid to dig into your pockets for a good cause.

Where/When, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Thunderbirds, Mustangs, Corvettes and more will congregate this Saturday at for the 11th annual .

In addition to classic cars, the event also offers musical entertainment. DJ Jesse Webb will spin tunes by while sing classics from the '50s, '60s and '70s in the amphitheater.

The Cruise In is free for both cruisers and spectators, not counting the food at concessions, and does not require a RSVP.

Registered classic car owners (pre-1987 vehicles) will receive goodie bags and dash plaques, and one free ticket for great door prizes.

No pets, alcohol, rollerblades or bicycles are permitted at the event.

Where/When: , 5 p.m. Monday

Why Go: Speaking of classic cars, St. Andrew Byzantine Catholic Church will also be holding a classic car show this Monday.

Cars must be at least 25 years old to participate in the show.

There will be also be food for sale and a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds to benefit the food bank at the Holy Transfiguration/St. Andrews.

Cub Scouting is for boys between the ages of 7 and 11 or 1st through 5th grades.

Pack 75 has a lot of fun activities planned such as Fall Campout, Halloween Party, Gettysburg Campout, and much more.
