Construction Closes Lanes On Diamond Center Drive

Ohio Department of Transportation crews will be performing pavement work on the street for about two days

Beginning at 8 a.m. today, construction crews will restrict Diamond Center Drive at Heisley Road to one lane in each direction for about two days as they perform pavement work in the area, according to Ohio Department of Transportation spokeswoman Amanda Lee.

Mentor City Manager Kenneth Filipiak said in his weekly memo to City Council that construction has caused "significant back-ups" on both Heisley Road and Diamond Center.

Daily lane closure will continue in both the northbound and southbound lanes as work is completed on Heisley Road.

The city of Mentor has been advised that work in this area will be complete by mid-October, Filipiak said in his memo.

In the mean time, Mentor Police Department has had officers directing traffic during the mid day and evening rush hours in the area. This will continue until the work is completed.
