Behind The Scenes At The President's Home & Varsity Chalk Talk: A Weekend Planner

There's still plenty to do on this relatively quiet weekend

However, there are still some fun things going on in and around Mentor this weekend.

2.

Where/When: , 11 a.m., Saturday

Why Go: The "Behind the Scenes" tour includes a visit to the basement, servants quarters and third floor of the home, along with an inside look at the windmill and 1870’s barn—areas not visited during regular tours.

The tour is about 90 minutes and begins at the Visitor Center. Reservations are required. Participants must be 16 years or older.

Pricing: $15

3.

Where/When: Lake Catholic kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday in Brunswick; meanwhile, Mentor crosses state borders to play McDowell High School in Erie, PA

Why Go: Both and kicked off their football seasons with wins at home.

However, if you want to catch either the Cougars or Cardinals live this Friday, you're going to have to drive.

The Cougars will face off against Brunswick, who beat Padua 42-7 last week.

Meanwhile, Mentor will visit McDowell High School for the Trojans first game of the season.

Pricing: Varies

4. VARSITY CHALK TALK

Where/When: , 7 p.m. Monday

Why Go: What's almost as good as watching high school football? Talking about it with the experts!

Every Monday, Bill Tilton of Varsity Chalk Talk hosts a Q & A with players and coaches from around the region.
