Around the Patch: A Drowned Teen, Murder for Hire & Juggling Fire

1. The body of 17-year-old boy was recovered at 6:45 a.m. this morning off  in Avon Lake after he went missing in the water almost 12 hours earlier. 

The teen, Daryle Phoeur, was with family and friends at the park Sunday, July 31, and went to help his 24-year-old cousin, Randy Cham, who was struggling in the water near the GenOn power plant.

2. Note to all would-be burglars, don't smoke.

A Strongsville woman woman spotted a trespasser on her porch after she smelled his cigarette, .

She called police but they did not arrive in time to arrest the trespasser.

3. The Beachwood father and daughter accused of  have been indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

The indictment was returned on Thursday, July 29, according to court records. Christine Metter, 40, and her father, Al Zombory, 76, both of Beachwood, remain in Lake County Jail on $500,000 cash bonds.

The two are accused of asking Metter’s high school friend Patrick Sabo to kill Metter’s ex-husband. They were arrested in a sting June 3.

4. A professional juggler from Kent is one of the top 48 contestants in America's Got Talent.

Charles Peachock is hoping Ohio residents will support his bid for the $1 million grand prize and a headlining show on the Las Vegas strip with multiple votes via text messages, phone calls and emails.
