1. Mayfield Heights Councilman David Sasak, 61, died Monday due to multiple health problems.

"He was a personal friend as well as a colleague," Council President Michael Ballistrea said to Hillcrest Patch. "It's sad for the city. Dave Sasak was always professional as a councilman and was much involved in city activities."

Sasak started on council in January 2006 and was re-elected to council in 2009.

2. A Solon police officer will serve three days in the Twinsburg jail and three days in an alcohol treatment program after pleading guilty Monday to drunk driving.

Christopher Petranic was arrested in March after crashing his personal car into a tree on Darrow Road in Twinsburg. He was arrested and charged with drunk driving and failure to control after recording a blood-alcohol level of .238, nearly three times the legal limit, according to the police report.

3. New York resident Andy Martin — a longtime critic of  — filed a lawsuit in Stark County Common Pleas Court in an effort to stop the city from granting SCI an , according to a story on North Canton Patch.

Upon the approval of City Council, SCI would be able to move into the 200,000-square-foot building at 334 Orchard St. in the Hoover District.
