National Weather Service warns that the heat index will rise to triple digits again today

It seems the weather only has two settings lately -- and .

Well, it appears that we're slated to receive more of the former today and more of the latter this weekend.

The heat index is expected to crawl into triple digits, as it did Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The combination of humidity and high temperatures is expected to bump the heat index up to 102 F today.

Consequently, the NWS has issued a heat advisory that is in effect until 9 p.m. today.

The temperature is supposed to dip Saturday and Sunday but that's because there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms.

The good news is the temperature is supposed to be sunny and a more manageable low 80s starting Monday.

So in the mean time -- air conditioning, anyone?
