12-Year-Old Robbery Suspects & Swimming Safety: Around the Patch

1. A 12-year-old from Cleveland Heights was walking through  when another boy came up to him, punched him and searched his pockets.

When he came up empty-handed, the 12-year-old suspect ran. The victim's mother called Cleveland Heights Police, and officers found the suspect. Police say he's been arrested several times, and he was charged with attempted robbery, 

2. Kent Police are trying to increase their transparency with a new website.

The site, www.kentpd.org, went live Thursday evening.

Under the direction of Chief Michelle Lee, the department is revealing more of itself than ever before. The website is chock full of links detailing everything from the names and positions of all employees to an explanation of the process involved in being arrested, jailed and posting bond.

Lee said one of the main reasons she wanted a new website is because she sensed “a disconnect” between the department and the community.
