Upgrades Coming to Great Lakes Mall Children's Play Area

The renovation is aimed at creating "a more child-friendly environment."

Renovations are coming to the space in Great Lakes Mall where the little ones roam.

The play area will receive five upgrades designed to "make for a more interactive and child-friendly experience," the mall announced is a news release Friday.

The enhancements are:

  • Replacing the carpeting with a custom-printed, interactive carpet design and new 1.5-inch padding.
  • Replacing the current Simon Kidgits Klubhouse
  • Covering empty shelves with wooden panels, which will display games and puzzles, including the Kidgits sorting game and bead reveal.
  • Refinishing the baby changing station.
  • Installing a new, interactive mirror.
The area was last upgraded in September, when  Cleveland Clinic’s Hillcrest Hospital and Willoughby Hills Family Health Center were named sponsors.

“We see the mall as not only a great place to shop, but a vital community gathering place,” director of mall marketing and business development Renee Lanzara said.

“With the help of Cleveland Clinic, we’re able to update the play area so that it remains fresh and entertaining for our young guests.”
