Though the Mentor Planning Commission did not vote on the proposed shooting range during its meeting last night, the business idea is far from dead.
The Mentor Planning Commission was initially slated to have a public hearing and review a preliminary site plan with the North Coast Gun Club for a proposed shooting range on Justin Way.
However, the property owner -- who is not the gun club -- is now in talks with a different business for use of that property, said Ric Spence, Mentor's planning administrator.
However, the shooting range is now eying a location on Tin Man Road, according to Angel Alvarez, an architect on the project.
Alvarez said the North Coast Gun Club tends to file a proposal with the city today.
Also at the Planning Commission meeting:
- The Commision approved the final site plan for Red Wine & Brew, which will be a beverage store that intends to carry the largest selection of wine and beer in the state.
- The Commission approved a re-imaging for Ashley Furniture, which will be filling the former Linens 'N Things at 7480 Plaza Boulevard.
