Rue21 Coming to Great Lakes Mall

Clothing and accessories store for teens will open in early April in Mentor

Great Lakes Mall's renovation is already attracting new business.

Rue21, a clothing and accessory store for teens, will open a store in early April at the Mentor mall. The retailer will set up shop at the south end of the mall next to .

“We're excited to welcome Rue21 to our list of valued retailers,” said Renee Lanzara, the mall's director of marketing and business development, in a statement. “It’s great to have their commitment at this time and we look forward to welcoming additional new stores as our renovation unfolds.”

Rue21 has 650 stores in 44 states. Until its Mentor store opens, its nearest location is in Steelyard Commons in Cleveland.

Lanzara added that current Great Lakes tenants, American Eagle and Aeròpostale, recently completed extensive remodeling of their stores.

“We’re happy to see the confidence our current and prospective tenants have in the positive impact of our renovation,” Lanzara said. “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’re more excited than ever about the future of Great Lakes Mall.”

Great Lakes Mall in January to coincide with its 50th anniversary.

The a new color scheme, new roofing and flooring, new entryways and a redesigned food court.

Lanzara previously said that the renovation is expected to begin in mid-April and last through November this year.
