A new clothing store that caters to young women is coming to Great Lakes Mall.
Maurices is scheduled to open in October, according to a statement from the company.
"It's always an exciting day when we announce a new store opening because we're bringing more than a new store to a new community," said maurices' Sr. Vice President of Stores Mark Sutton. "We will fill a niche for young women of any size who are looking for trendy, affordable, versatile fashions, and we're also bringing along maurices' commitment to community."

Sutton touted the company's commitment to philanthropy in its statement.
"Maurices stores have had clothing and food drives, supported families who've lost their homes to tragic fires, and participated in fundraising events," Sutton said. "Each store has the autonomy to get involved with local events and causes where it can have the biggest impact."

He added that maurices stores have even often limited-supply jewelry during Relay for Life fundraisers to support the American Cancer Society.

Maurices has more than 780 stores in 44 states, including 33 in Ohio.
