Mentor's Unemployment Rate Dropped In July

The city of Mentor's unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percent to 5.6 percent in July, switching the momentum from when the .

By comparison, the city's unemployment rate was 6.4 percent in July 2011.

While the state of Ohio's unemployment rate remained at 7.4 percent from June to Juley, Lake County's rate dropped from 6.5 percent to 6.2 percent.

Mentor also maintained its distinction of having the lowest unemployment rate for any community in Ohio with more 50,000 in population.

Mentor's 0.3 increase in July now looks to be an aberration as it followed three consecutive months of decreasing unemployment rates in Mentor.
