Mentor Panera Raising Money For Breast Cancer Research And Treatment

A portion of the proceeds from every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold will go to the American Cancer Society

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is commemorating it by raising money for cancer research and treatment through the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program.

Paneras across the region, including Mentor's, will sell Pink Ribbon Bagels that are shaped like their iconic namesakes. A portion of the proceeds from every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold will go to local breast cancer charities.

Also, for each baker's dozen of bagels that Panera sells, one dollar will go to American Cancer Society.

People need not even buy anything from Panera to support the cause. Until the end of the month, Panera will donate 10 cents to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation for each "like" the Panera Bread Virtual Pink Ribbon Bagel gets on its Facebook page.

Since 2001, more than 7 million Pink Ribbon Bagels have been sold, resulting in more than $1 million donated to fight breast cancer, according to Panera.
