Hudec Dental Buys Former Allcare Dental in Mentor

New dental office expected to reopen April 4

The Allcare Dental and Denture Center in Mentor, which abruptly went out of business on January 5, is expected to reopen by April 4 under the new ownership of Hudec Dental, a privately held company that operates 11 offices throughout Northeast Ohio.

Allcare, a national dental chain, closed its 52 locations across 15 states after failing to secure financing to keep operating. About 10 employees at the Mentor location lost their jobs.

In addition to the former Allcare Dental and Denture Center at 7697 Mentor Avenue, Hudec Dental bought the assets of the  former AllCare locations at Middleburg Heights and Canton. This acquisition, which makes Hudec Dental the largest independent dental practice in Greater Cleveland, will  create 25 new jobs. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The company employs 132 licensed dentists, licensed hygienists and dental assistants as well as support staff.

“We like to think of ourselves as a group of neighborhood dental offices,” Dr. Hudec explained. “We never set out to be the biggest. Our goal is to take care of people’s dental health needs right in their local community with a philosophy of treating each patient as we ourselves wish to be treated, and to offer the best people with the best training and the best equipment in the business. We fully intend to maintain that philosophy in our new locations.”
