Ben Bollman and Jason Cavell -- the co-owners of the new CrossFit Remix in Mentor -- think people will love their gym if they give it a try.
They believe that so much they're willing to offer everyone the first month's membership free.
CrossFit Remix opens February 9 at 9372 Mercantile Drive, Unit B. And, for the first 20 days, classes are free.
In anticipation of their opening, CrossFit is also offering a series of "soft opening" classes this month. Those are free too. (The next one is Saturday morning. They announce their preview classes on their Facebook page.)
The classes are focused around high-intensity movement exercises such as cardio fitness, strength training, plyometrics, running and rowing.
They also incorporate kettle balls, medicine balls and curl bars, as well as other equipment, in their workouts.
"It's every aspect of fitness rolled into one," Cavell said.
Additionally, one never knows what workout they'll get when they go to a CrossFit Remix class.
"Everyday it's a different workout so it keeps people from getting bored," Bollman said.
The classes emphasize functional movements, Cavell said. That means they use movements that people do every day in their workout instead of incorporating unnatural actions that people only do in gyms.
Class sizes are small at CrossFit Remix -- about eight to 10 people.
When they open, they'll offer classes from 6 to 7 a.m.., 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Fridays.
On Saturday mornings, three one-hour classes are planned at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.
"The whole month of February will be free," Cavell said. "Test it out and see if you like it."
