Living & Eating Green Expo At Lakeland This Weekend

People can learn about the many ways in which food impacts our health during the Living & Eating Green Expo at Lakeland Community College

Several food and health experts will be descending upon Lake County for the Living and Eating Green Expo this Friday through Sunday at Lakeland Community College.

The weekend will kick off with a talk from Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, of the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute. For $12, people can hear Esselstyn speak at 6 p.m. and enjoy food samples from local restaurants at the Friday night Vegan Food Fest.

Esselstyn was featured on CNN and in the documentary, “Forks Over Knives,” which talks about the benefits of a plant-based diet.

Throughout the weekend, experts will discuss subjects as diverse as the effects of drumming on health, plant-based diets, chakras, and the effects of food on sex and cancer.

The experts include John Robbins (the son of the cofounder of Baskin and Robbins turned health guru) and Elizabeth Kucinich (the director of public affairs for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and wife of the U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich.)
