I'd like to start a blog regarding above city run animal shelter, their cats room. On 2 occassions I visited their building on Tyler Blvd in hopes of finding a homeless cat to adopt. I'm questioning why so many of the cages had orange signs on them that the cats were not yet available. I proceeded to inquire at the help desk, "what's up with all the signs, why?" The volunteer staff was very evasive, could give me no legitimate answers, suggested I complete an adoption request for review and someone would get back to me. They also commented that perhaps those particular cats I admired needed to be seen by their vet,or they didn't know the reason. Mentor is not exactly a hop, skip and jump driving from home in Euclid; I had 2 cat carriers in my trunk and looked forward to adding to my pet family. It was very frustrating and disheartening being turned away. I'd like to hear from anyone that has had difficult situations from this city run shelter. Thanks to anyone interested in shedding some light on this problem. After all, I received no phone calls from them, just lots of excuses; isn't their humane officer Jennifer being paid by Mentor residents tax dollars? Is this legal for them to block ppl from adopting or discriminating against candidates? Barb from Euclid
