The committee is a group of Mentor residents with backgrounds in finance who serve as the audit committee, review forecasts, identify best financial practices and report to the board on occasion.
The new members are:
- Michelle Kaplan, a Certified Public Accountant and assistant finance director for the City of Beachwood. She has two children who attend Orchard Hollow Elementary School.
- Eryn Medved, vice president and senior credit officer at Lake National Bank. She has one child at Garfield Elementary School and another who will begin kindergarten next year.
- Bernie Rykaczewski, vice president at Volk Optical. He has three children at Ridge Middle School and Mentor High School.
“As business leaders in our community, not only do they understand the importance of aggressive fiscal management of taxpayer dollars, they also have a vested interest in maintaining our district’s high academic performance to produce a quality future workforce,” School Board Vice President Drew Sparacia said in a news release.
The board extended the terms of current members Janet Mulh, Pat Rositani, and Pam Trivisonno to last through 2016.
