Video: Local Bands Rock The First-Ever Mallapalooza

Six bands turned the Great Lakes Mall parking lot into a rock concert

Great Lakes Mall and Belmez Entertainment hosted the first-ever Mallapalooza battle of the bands Saturday afternoon, and it probably won't be the last.

"We hope it becomes an annual event," said Renee Lanzara, the marketing director for the Mentor mall.

Four bands competed for a prize package that includes 12 hours of time at a recording studio. The competitors were The Natives, Raygus (who are from Mentor,) Conceded and pianist-singer Abby Sky.

In addition to great music, people also got to chow down on some good eats because the gourmet food trucks of C Town Chow Down were there, including Farenheit, JiBARO, StrEat Bistro, Zydeco, Jj Hot Dogs, Nosh Box, Cakes Plus, Street Sensations, East Coast Custard and Pig Lickin BBQ.
