Gallery One inaugurates Cold Nose Warm Art™, annual kids’ art competition

Gallery One has announced its first annual Cold Nose Warm Art™ Contest, designed to encourage kids to use their imaginations to create original artistic interpretations of Clancy, Gallery One’s rescue dog and official “Patron of the Arfs.”

Clancy, an 18-pound Lakeland Terrier, is 20 months old and has been employed fulltime at Gallery One since his Memorial Day adoption. Earlier this summer, he became quite the celebrity when he modeled for Chardon OH’s Landmark Mural and later accompanied mural designer, Diana Weber Gardner, in the community’s dedication parade.

Award-winning artist/author, Dean Morrissey, will select CNWA winners and award prizes on December 1 at 1 p.m. in conjunction with Gallery One’s annual Morrissey exhibition of prints and originals. Entries from all participants will be on display at Gallery One through December 31.

The art competition is open to kids in four age groups: 4–7, 8–10, 11–13 and 14–18. A variety of prizes will be awarded including the first annual “Clancy” trophy, Gallery One gift certificates and award ribbons.

Entries may be original drawings, paintings, sculptures, cartoons or other two or three dimensional portrayals of Clancy in any medium. The young artists are encouraged to use their imaginations and depict Clancy taking part in any adventure they wish.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Entry forms are available at Gallery One and www.galleryone.com/coldnose.pdf or www.facebook.com/LakelandTerrier.dog.  Art submissions will be accepted through November 23, 2012 at 6 p.m.
