Viewfinder: The History, Heroes and Tragedy in Mentor City Cemetery

See the history and heroes of Mentor via their headstones

Mentor City Cemetery has been the final resting place for many of the city's residents.

The Cemetery Association started it in 1854 when it bought 10 acres off of Jackson Road for $400.

In 1855, Amasa Cobb was the first person to be buried there. Since then, those interred there speak to the city's history, its heroes and tragedies.
