Video: Librarians Storm Mentor Headlands Beach

Employees of Mentor Public Library gave away books, sunscreen, frisbees and more summer fun necessities Friday afternoon

Employees of  invaded  Friday afternoon to give away summer survival kits, complete with sunscreen, a frisbee and, naturally, a paperback book for beach reading.

They gave away about 1,000 kits, according to Kim Sidorick, the branch manager for the .

This is the third year in a row that library employees have "stormed the beach."

The Mentor libraries were closed yesterday as part of in-service training, so the employees used the afternoon to spread the word about the library, its programs and events.
