United Way Of Lake County Hosting Block Party This Thursday

The party will raise money for United Way-supported programs

The United Way of Lake County is hosting a block party this Thursday in the circle of Progress Parkway in Mentor, near its headquarters.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can enjoy lunch, play games, win prizes and have fun with the United Way.

Tickets for lunch cost $5 and proceeds go to United Way-funded programs.

Guests are encouraged to also bring money for games and raffles.

The food will be provided by CiCi's Pizza, Guilio Bonazza's, DiBella's, Giant Eagle, J&J Catering, Pizza Hut, Bakers Square, Chick-Fil-A, Manhattan Deli, Target, Eat'n Park and Dunkin' Donuts.

People need not RSVP to partake in the party. Walk-ups are welcome, as well.

The United Way of Lake County kicked off its 2012-2013 fundaising campaign in August.

Its goal is to raise $3.716 million, 2 percent more than the $3.671 million it raised last year.

All money raised during the 2012-2013 United Way of Lake County campaign benefits programs that focus on children and families, senior citizens, health and human services and basic needs in Lake County.
