United Way Fun Run Raises Money For Local Causes, Charities

People are also encouraged to donate mittens or gloves at the Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Fun Run

United Way of Lake County wants people to do some good while having some fun at their Warm Hands, Warm Hearts 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.

The race will take place on Oct. 21 in Chagrin River Park in Willoughby. Pre-registration costs $20 for the 5-kilometer run and $15 for the 1-mile run.

Those entry prices bump up to $25 for the run and $20 for the walk on the day of the race.

Each participant receives a two-week trial membership to Mentor Fitworks and a two-week trial membership to Mentor Heisley Racquet and Fitness Club, as well as being entered into a raffle with some great prizes.

Proceeds for the event go to United Way-funded programs.

Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring gloves or mittens to donate to those without them for this upcoming winter. (Hence the run's Warm Hands' moniker.)
