United Way, City of Mentor Host Snowy Golf Tournament

Players can still register to play golf in the snow Jan. 21 at Black Brook Golf Course

Golfers will have the rare opportunity to tee off in the snow during the seventh annual Jan. 21 at Black Brook Golf Course.

Those who want to play should register soon because the Chili Open is one of those rare activities where snow attracts -- instead of deters -- participants.

Black Brook clears tee areas and greens, but golfers will have to hack through the snow anywhere else on the course.

Money from the event goes to the . In its seven-year history, the Chili Open has made more than $10,000 for the local chapter of the United Way.

It costs $18 to play and that coves the price of the food, as well.
