Nominate and vote for Mentor in Rand McNally's Best of the Road competition

The city of Mentor has a knack for landing on "Best of" lists.

Money magazine named it one of the 100 best places to live. Reader's Digest .

Now, Mentor has the chance to make the rank again; but, this time, it depends on you.

Rand McNally and USA Today are looking for communities to put on its "Best of the Road" map.

On June 23, the search for the best of America’s destinations begins with a three-week rally. Five teams composed of amateur travelers will leave New York for Los Angeles, canvassing the cities and towns along the way. In the meantime, they will be ranking the places they stop in five categories: Most Beautiful, Most Patriotic, Friendliest, Most Fun and Best for Food.

For these teams to stop in Mentor, you have to visit the Best of the Road website, nominate and vote for Mentor or points of interest in our city.

You could nominate the city as a whole or specific locations like ,  or the . You could also recommend one of Mentor's 160 restaurants.

Whatever you do, act fast. Voting ends Monday.
