Still Time to Sign Up for Lake Humane Society's Annual Mutt Strut

The pledge walk at Penitentiary Glen raises money for the animal shelter

Animal lovers (and even animal likers) still have time to sign up for  17th annual Mutt Strut.

The pledge walk is from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at Penitentiary Glen in Kirtland. It raises money for the abandoned, injured and homeless animals at the Mentor shelter.

The fee to attend is $15 for anyone older than 12 and $10 for anyone 12 or younger. However, the admission fee is waived if the attendee has raised pledges to walk.

Of course, dogs owners are welcome to bring their canine companions.

If a person doesn't have a pooch of their own, several dogs from the shelter will be at the Strut and available for adoption.

The Mutt Strut also features several vendors selling products designed for dogs or their owners, as well as an agility course, games, contests, music, face painting (for kids, not for dogs) and food.

All guests get a complimentary goodie bag and T-shirt and all proceeds go to the Lake Humane Society.

For more information, go to the Society's website or call 440-951-6122.
