Who's got the spookiest, scariest house in Mentor?

Halloween is Mentor resident Wendy Hudik's favorite holiday and she doesn't even like scary stuff.

"I love fall," she explained. "I like all of the color."

That's why Hudik and her family spent eight hours this year decorating their house at 6760 North Palmerston Drive for Halloween.

"As a family, we love the fall traditions of watching scary movies and carving pumpkins, cooking pumpkin seeds and trick or treating with neighbors and friends," Hudik said.

Hudik's decorations stick to the sweeter, more kid-friendly end of the Halloween spectrum with an inflatable Tigger and Winne the Pooh, smiling jack-o-lanterns and holiday lights strung over the doorway, bushes and trees.

"I thought people might want to see the lights out at Halloween, also," she said.

Hudik said that in the 15 years she has been decorating her house for Halloween, her neighbors have gradually decorated their homes for the holiday more, as well.

"I leave Christmas to them," Hudik kidded.
