Mystery Novels, Nature Tours & Clambakes: Get Out!

Why Go: Popular local author Les Roberts, the author of 15 mystery novels featuring Cleveland detective Milan Jacovich, will visit the library.

2. NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY

Where/When: , 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: In honor of National Public Lands Day, admission to the James A. Garfield National Historic Site is free today. Tour the Garfield home, experience the exhibits and film, walk the grounds and learn more about President Garfield.

Pricing: Free.

3. GNOME AND GARDEN

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, through Sunday.

Why Go: This is the final weekend to visit the Gnome and Garden exhibit and find the 20 5-foot-tall garden gnomes hidden throughout the gardens.

Pricing: Members and children 5 and under are free. Non-members are $6, those 60 and over are $5, and children 6-12 are $3.

4. GREAT WESTERN RESERVE CLAMBAKE

Where/When: Lake County History Center in Painesville, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Why Go: This vintage-style event combines history about clambakes in Ohio and a traditional clambake in the Western Reserve way.

Pricing: $28 for members, $33 for nonmembers. Reservations are required.

5. MARSH AND LAKESHORE TOUR

Where/When: Starts at the , 2 p.m. Sunday.

Why Go: Discover the coast and learn about life on Lake Erie and the Mentor Marsh shores during this hike along the western edge of the marsh and the Lake Erie shoreline.
