Ever just wanted to get dirty for no good reason at all?

Well, kids will never have a better opportunity to fulfill these fantasies and more during the city of Mentor's annual "Everything You've Always Wanted To Do But Your Mother Wouldn't Let You" program.

Etiquette will be out the window Tuesday at .

Children won't need hands to eat pudding or an excuse to get messy. After games involving Jell-O, syrup, marshmallows, whipped cream and more, kids will get a snack and an hour to play in Garfield Pool.

Of course, they'll have to shower before they jump in the pool.

This fantastically funny and filthy event has become a summer tradition. It is hosted by the city's Parks & Recreation Department.

Kids can still sign up for the popular program's morning session, which goes from 9 a.m. to noon. The afternoon session is already sold out.

However, children need to register today. They can do so online or by calling 440-974-5720. (Despite the program's glib name, kids do need a parent's permission to participate.)

It costs Mentor residents $19 to play, $26 for nonresidents.

Because there's no way for a kid to play and not get dirty – at least, not if they're doing it right – children are asked to wear old clothes and sneakers. Kids should also bring a swimsuit, wash cloth and a dry set of clothes.
