Mentor Public Library Patrons 'Can' Fines, Help Local Food Banks

Library patrons donated about 625 pounds of food during the annual food drive

Mentor Public Library patrons donated 25 boxes worth of canned goods -- which is about 625 pounds -- during its annual Can Your Fines food drive in November.

During the drive, patrons received a dollar off any fines on their library card for each canned good they brought in.

“We appreciate the generosity of the surrounding community to help people in need,” said the library's Circulation Manager Denise Wright.
