All anyone needs is an email address to join a mystery, romance, nonfiction, fiction, thriller, audio, science fiction or other book clubs.

DearReader even offers some books that haven't been published yet.

Once someone has signed up, they will receive a chapter-a-day, quick 5-minute read delivered to their email Monday through Friday. On Mondays and Thursdays, Suzanne Beecher, the book club's editor and moderator, will also offer a link to AuthorBuzz, where she introduces members to three or four authors and their books.

At the end of Friday’s read, the online book club will give members the information they need so they can pick up the book from the library or purchase the book. There will also be a link on the emails to reserve the book from the Mentor Public Library.

"This is a great way for patrons to participate in a book club from the comfort of their homes," said Barbara Hauer, the collection development manager for the library. "This opens up another avenue for book club readers."
